I have always been one to plan everything that I do. This summer, living with people that I have never lived with before, has challenged my somewhat strict lifestyle. There are days when we have more free time than usual, including weekends, and these are the times that my suite and I have taken advantage of. We have made a great effort to go out and explore the city, enjoying free events and lots of food. The city of San Antonio has a lot to offer, with the River Walk, diverse local restaurants and its various cultural events. I have been able to go to many places that were on my list and experience new things this summer because I realized that some things do not always have to be planned.
If you are moving to a different city for college or living on campus anywhere, take advantage of your environment. Not only does college provide a new academic environment, but also a chance to explore new things. As a freshman, I was not very adventurous. My friends and I did go off campus every now and then, but we spent most of our time on campus. We did attend almost every on campus event that had free food and entertainment, but it was not until this last year that our adventures really started. This summer has only pushed us to further explore what San Antonio has to offer.
