I am extremely thankful for all the opportunities and all of the great people that I have encountered during college thus far. Even though I recently found my passion a little over a year ago, I have been able to use all of the available resources to pursue this passion. Attending a small school has allowed me to take advantage of all the opportunities and the people here, but I would say that is also very possible at any other school, no matter the size.
I encourage everyone entering college to take advantage of everything that your school has to offer. My time in college has definitely been what it has been because I have participated in what interests me and I have used all of the resources that my school has to offer to help me out. I know it can very scary to just go out and talk to people that you have never meet, but it all starts with an initial conversation, even if it via email. In college I have been able to see how your connections can grow based off of just one encounter with a student or a professor. People for the most part are willing to help you out, if you just ask.
Moving into my senior year, I plan to continue using the resources that my school has to offer to help me grow and to allow me to continue pursuing my passion. For everyone in college and starting college in the fall, remember that it is perfectly okay to ask for help and that resources will be available and it is up to you to use them.
