I have been guilty of this several times, some of my friends have also fallen into this idea that people don’t want to help others. However, my mentor always tells me that adults always want to help. That’s when I decided to take action on her advice and actually ask for help on anything I needed. It was no surprise to say that she was right, adults are always happy to help others when it comes to asking about their personal experience with something.
That is why I want to share with you guys my mentor’s advice “If you don’t ask, you won’t know.” I advise you to reach out for help whenever you need it. Especially when it comes to questions about college and your future career. I am currently hoping to find out more career paths that I can take with the career I am pursuing in marketing. The way I’m seeking help is by reaching out to complete strangers who also studied marketing and simply asking what it is they do.
Reaching out for help doesn’t make you weak and people don’t judge you for it. Everyone is human and that means that we don’t always know the answer to everything. Which is true, ask a mentor for a place to start looking for more information and ask college counselors or advisors.
They are there to help.
