As I mentioned before, I am a senior in high school so I am currently experiencing the college application process. As for my college application process, I was sure to start early. I had the first draft of my personal statement done in July. Of course, it has gone through over a dozen edits, but I made sure to brainstorm ideas early on so that I didn’t have to rush during September. Rushing to get your essays done during early fall of senior year is not a good idea because you are going to have to balance other activities, such as extracurricular activities and studying for standardized tests. Also, during senior year, you should try not to get affected by “senioritis.” As a current senior, I can tell you that avoiding senioritis is pretty difficult, but I know that I need to maintain good grades. It is definitely okay to take a step back and have some fun, but try not to let that affect your academics. This is our final stretch to college and we need to make the most of it!
