It’s very difficult to remain focus once the end of the school year comes about, such as when April rolls around, and that is plausible with high school students as well. It’s just something about knowing you’re almost to the finish line, but have to overcome tons of tiny obstacles to be able to say you’re completely through. With these many obstacles in reach, it’s critical to be alert and ready. Aside from being attentive, it’s important to remain motivated. Lack of motivation is something that can surely slow you down in whatever you strive to accomplish.
As my first year of college is soon to come to end, i can honestly say that i’ve encountered many moments where i was extremely un-motivated, especially when professors start giving out their final assignments and grades are soon to close up. Although i am a firm believer that my GPA isn’t a reflection of my genuine intelligence, i know that it’s crucial as an applicant to future scholarships, school organizations, internships, etc, that’s why i try my hardest to maintain a well, stable balance between my schoolwork throughout the semester so i don’t scurry to get my grades up once the end is near. Not waiting till April to get your grades up is more beneficial as you’ll have more leisure time, that is, more time to deeply study for finals, thus making that one last end of semester stretch easier, and less stressful. Also, speaking out to your teachers/professors in regards to extra credit or makeup assignments you can partake in is a great way to help boost up your grades.
So to all my fellow students, college or not, stay determined and ready to knock out those finals. Whether your GPA needs intense saving or not, don’t let the distractions creep up on you. Keep reaching out till the end, and all will be worth while.
